  • Full-day and Half-day Workshops

    Each term we offer many different full-day and half-day workshops around teaching in higher education. Please find the current program on our pages in the Qualifications PortalExternal link. Here, you can also directly register for the courses.

  • Crash Courses

    The two-days Crash Course “Teaching in Higher Education” and the one-day Crash Course “Testing and Assessing” are designed for teachers and instructors who are at the very start of their teaching career and have only limited experience in teaching or didactics. All Crash Courses are offered in English as well as in German language. All Crash Courses are open for teachers in all disciplines and thus allow for interdisciplinary exchange.

    In these intensive introductory courses, you will become familiar with the fundamentals of teaching and learning and testing and assessing in higher education. More precisely, the following topics are covered:

    • Fundamentals of teaching and learning
    • What are learning goals good for and how to phrase them
    • Role and self-understanding of teachers in higher education
    • Motivation and activating methods
    • Course and session planning
    • Managing difficult situations
    • Designing examinations
    • Minimizing bias in grading
    • Developing assessment criteria
